Luke Schmitt is the Area Director for Young Life Chicago-Northside (since 2011) and the Associate Regional Director for Young Life Chicago-Urban (since 2013).  Schmitt, a Master's in Christian Ministry candidate from North Park Theological Seminary, received his B.S. in Education from University of Wisconsin-Whitewater; an Urban Ministry Certificate from North Park Theological Seimnary; a Youth Ministry Certificate from Fuller Theological Seminary and studied in the Christian Community Development Associaton Immersion program.
Luke's ministry experience includes 14+ years of youth outreach, discipleship, and community development in small town, suburban, and urban communities.  His Young Life staff experiences include time in Madison, WI, Sun Prairie, WI, Wilsonville (Portland), OR, and Chicago, IL. 
Luke, and his wife, Kate, a GED Teacher at Mercy Home for Boys and Girls, are parents of two girls and live in the Albany Park neighborhood on the North Side of Chicago.  They are members at River City Community church in West Humboldt Park.

Monica McGrath is the YoungLives Coordinator (Young Life's ministry to teen moms) for our area and also holds everything together as our Office Administrator. She has 20+ years of volunteer experience in a variety of capacities within her local church, and she holds a B.A. in Christian Ministries from Trinity International University. She has been serving with Young Life Chicago-Northside since 2014, and is a member of New Life Community Church of West Lakeview.  Monica lives right on the border of the Albany Park and Irving Park neighborhoods​
